Likewise, John Stuart Mill notes in his autobiography that much of what he wrote was coauthored with his wife, Harriet Taylor Mill, but she is still not listed as a coauthor to this day. The edition of ‘On Liberty’ I have claims that “scholarly consensus is that Mill exagerrated the role of his wife,” even though his dedication once again claims her as part author of the work!

Ada Lovelace is my favorite scientist — I’m surprised (though I guess not terribly shocked) to find out that there are people who don’t consider her the first programmer. D:
